Snow Songs

Kids can find a lot to do outside in the snow, from snowball fights to building snow caves and tunnels. There are snow obstacle courses to make, and even swinging on the swingset and jumping into a drift is a blast. Punctuate the fun by singing snow-themed songs that center on that wonderful white stuff. Most of these are new words to familiar tunes, so there's no excuse to keep quiet. Remember that sound carries in colder weather, so let out your voice and sing at the top of your lungs to cheer up the whole neighborhood.

Dancing Snowflake (To the tune of Are You Sleeping?)

Dancing snowflake, Dancing snowflake, Spin around, spin around. (spin around) Twirly, whirly snowflakes, Twirly, whirly snowflakes, Touch the ground, touch the ground. (bend over and touch ground). Snow (To the tune of The Farmer In The Dell)

The snow falls on the roof (point up), The snow falls on the ground (point down), The snow falls on the window (make a window with your hands), The snow falls all around (make large circles with hands). Snowflakes (To the tune of Sailing, Sailing)

Snowflakes, snowflakes Falling on my house. Each one floats so gently, Quiet as a mouse. Snowflakes, snowflakes All so pure and white. The special thing about them is, No two are alike. Snow is Falling Down (To the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat)

Snow is falling down, Falling to the ground. Big and white and pretty flakes, They never make a sound. To the ground they fall, Sparkly, cold and round. It doesn't take a long long time, Before they reach the ground.
