Five Little Pumpkins by Dan Yaccarino - is a board book based on the well-known rhyme. Vivid colors and thick lines make the illustrations jump right off the page. When reading this with kids, feel free to add the finger actions. Perfect for preschool and early elementary age children.
What a Scare, Jesse Bear by Nancy White Carlstrom - features a little bear going through all the preparations for Halloween. However, Jesse Bear is also feeling a little scared. There are some well-known tall tales plus some original stories, and although none of them are too scary, they'll surely make you wonder about those things that go bump in the night.
