Check out your nearest zoo for a "Boo in the Zoo" party. Our local zoo hosts one every year, and I found tons of links to other zoos around the country that feature some kind of Halloween party fun. Bring your little princesses or superheros to the zoo in their costumes and don't forget the trick-or-treat bags. It's a fun way to get the whole family into the excitement of Halloween and also provide the chance to check out some really cool animals, creepy or otherwise.
Our zoo invites kids to dress up and come trick-or-treat at the zoo. Volunteers in costumes will be passing out candy at certain stops. Also on display will be some of the more recognizable animals that make up Halloween. Spiders, owls, snakes, bats and more are highlighted during the Boo at the Zoo. Kids are able to get frightfully close to these creepy critters, and have the chance to learn more about them.
Generally, the Boo at the Zoo party is during the day, so it's especially nice for really little kids. Check with your local zoo for specific times and days. Most zoos have treat stations for the kids to visit, and many zoos get sponsors to donate fun prizes and items to give away to the kids. It's sure to be one of the wildest Halloween parties in town. It's a fun, safe, interesting way to have a Halloween party that's appealing to the whole family.
